HELLO, GOPHERS
Principal's Weekly Newsletter
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Stone Families,
We started the first week of November off right with teachers planning for student engagement with a focus on the acceleration of learning and student learning gains. Not only did teachers collaborate, but all 7th grade students also collaborated while working with chemical changes to create ice cream. In addition, Stone's PBIS character trait for the month of October was Responsibility. We were ecstatic to celebrate 18 students chosen by our teacher teams as representing responsibility! As always, we are working to celebrate our awesome students!
And just like that, our next interim ends Friday, November 12th. Parents will be able to view thier student's interim on FOCUS by Tuesday, November 16th. The interim provides opportunities for students to set goals in order to continue in the direction they are going or to bring their grades up by the end of the semester. Please remember we are offering tutoring Monday-Thursday in the morning and in the afternoon and Friday in the morning.
Since November is a month of appreciation, I am beyond thankful for our students, parents, staff and community. We have parents volunteering in the media center and with upcoming events. Students are working hard in the classroom and outside of the classroom through learning gains and working to act with our Gopher S.W.A. G (Safety, Working Hard, Acting Responsibly, Giving Respect). Our teachers and staff come to work every day to inspire, motivate and support all students. Finally, with much appreciation, our community partners have stepped onto our campus to mentor students, support students and guide our students into making the right educational decisions and life choices! We at Stone Magnet Middle School have a lot to be thankful for!!!
We are truly grateful to all those women and men who have fought and served for our country! We wish you and your family a happy Veteran’s Day! There will be no school Thursday, November 11th due to Veterans Day. Friday, November 12th is our schoolwide field day in support of STEAM, team building, problem solving and building positive relationships! If you are interested in volunteering at our field day, please email me at lundy.courtney@brevardschools.org.
Go Gophers!
Sincerely,
Courtney Lundy
