House Store-Thank You!
THANK YOU!!! We cannot thank you enough for all of the donations to our "House Store". We truly appreciate all of the wonderful items. The students are going to enjoy using their well earned money in our store next week.
Fall Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will begin Monday, November 14th. Please sign up for a 20 minute time slot with your child's homeroom teacher. This 20 minute conference time will be split between Mrs. Keefe and Mrs. Ward. You will start with your child's homeroom teacher and then after 10 minutes rotate teachers.
You can sign up for these conferences through Family Access, the same way you registered for Great Start Conferences.
High School Buddies
We will be meeting our high school pals this month! On October 26th, they are planning the activities and we are bringing the snacks for our first gathering. Please send your child to school that day with a drink and a snack to share with their new pal.
CogAt
As a part of our screening and identification process for students with gifted cognitive abilities, all students in 3rd and 5th grade will be screened one time this year using the CogAT 7 screening tool in the coming weeks. This 30 minute screening measures reasoning and problem solving skills in the areas of 1) verbal, 2) quantitative (mathematics), 3) spatial or non-verbal (using shapes and figures to solve problems). Students that score well on the CogAT may engage in additional assessments to determine identification for gifted cognitive abilities. If additional assessments are needed parents will be notified with further information. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Vitale (PLE) or Mrs. Swanson (Horizon). Thank you.

Veteran's Day
On Friday, November 11th, we will be honoring our Veterans with our annual assembly. If anyone has a FAMILY member who is a Veteran that would like to be a part of our day, please contact Amy Farrow by email (farram@pewaukeeschools.org) PRIOR to November 4th. This will provide her with adequate time to arrange for room visits and introductions for each Veteran. The program starts at 8:45 am in the Horizon gym and will conclude by 9:30 am. Then Veterans will be assigned to a classroom for a short visit, which will wrap up by 10:00 am at the latest.
