DRINKING FROM THE PSALMS
Sermon series on Psalms continues through September 4
Join us as we continue our six-week sermon series that focuses on six psalms that reflect how we experience the life of faith, with all its ups and downs! Sometimes life is stable, and the world seems dependable (Psalms 1 and 113). Other times it feels like everything is falling apart and what we have known and trusted doesn’t seem true (Psalm 69). The final three weeks will focus on the redirection of faith in a trustworthy God and creation, though we don’t forget the downs (Psalms 27, 40 and 146). The schedule is as follows:
- August 14 - When the Flood Waters Rise, Psalm 69:1-16
- August 21 - My Light and My Salvation, Psalm 27
- August 28 - A New Song (Youth Service), Psalm 40:1-10
- September 4 - Praise and Trust, Psalm 146

CAN YOU PRUNE OUR ROSE GARDENS?
Volunteers are needed to help maintain CLP's beautiful rose gardens. Roses need to be pruned in fall and early spring. During the blooming period, spring to autumn, the bushes need to be “dead-headed.” Deadheading is removing spent blooms from the bush. Doing such allows the bush to continue blooming. Otherwise, the rose will go to seed and much blooming will cease. There will be training of techniques for pruning and deadheading provided. Men and Women are invited to join in this rewarding endeavor. Highschool students are also welcome. For more information contact the church office or signup online at:
