Difference between archaic and obsolete
Archaic is used for words that are old but still identifiable. Obsolete is when the word is no longer used at all.
Ex:
The man inserted the VHS tape into the machine. (archaic) (even thought it's old technology, most people know what VHS tapes are)
The man inserted the beta tape into the machine. (obsolete) (beta tapes came out at the same time as VHS tapes, but were more expensive and were not popular due to cost)
