Newsletter Week 2 Term 3

Kaimai School 2nd August 2022

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora Koutou,

A special thank you to everyone for the past week and a great start to Term 3. I am settling in and trying hard to learn everyone's names. It will take a wee while to do so being the new girl on the block! What I am loving about Kaimai School is the warm friendly staff, the amazing grounds and of course the awesome kids! I look forward to getting to know our whanau a little more and touching base.

A special welcome to Hazel, Ella, Kobe and Mr T. Hazel has just started school and is in Ruma Kereru. She is lucky to have her big brother and sister already at school! Mr T is on his final teaching practicum and will be with us for the term. He is teaching in Kereru alongside Mrs Harris. Ella and Kobe are in Ruma Kea and have settled in well. Please make them feel at home.

It is our great pleasure to present our new newsletter format for Kaimai School. We will be having weekly newsletters to keep you informed and showcasing our gorgeous kura. As the new Principal to the school, we are realigning some of our procedures and making sure that the communication is really clear for everyone. You will see some updates in the newsletter each week highlighting these. Please have a good read through and let us know if your require more information.

Have a fantastic week. It is great to see the sunshine today. Perfect for our school photos!

Big picture

Mandarins

Over the holidays we had a very committed group of children and adults that helped to pick mandarins. The weather was all over the place, but we finally managed to find a day that would work. A special thank you the the pickers, and to everyone that bought mandarins. The money raised will be well used in school.

Medical and Health Needs

This week Alesha in the office will be contacting families of children who require regular administration of medicine at school. We will be touching base to recheck dosages and requirements as we know these can change over time. A form will come home for caregivers to update and sign for our records.

We also would like to make sure that we have updated recent assessments in our files. If your child has a recent diagnosis or you think the school may not know about it, please contact us by phoning 07 543 0999 or emailing admin@kaimai.school.nz. We are happy to get in touch so that you can tell us what we need to know.

Way to go!

Our School Choir is performing at the Tauranga Primary Schools Music Festival which is held later in the term. We were very fortunate to have two students selected to audition for a solo part in the performance and were picked!. Congratulations Lexie and Ruby. They will be singing a part in the song 'Catching Feelings.' Way to go girls and way to go Choir!
