His everyday job exposes him to some of the coolest ideas and projects by young Africans and it is these disruptive minds that fuel his belief that despite all the negativity, change for the better is inevitable for our motherland.
Dr. LUCY KING - Using honeybees as a natural deterrent for crop-raiding elephants
Dr. King's talk will be a rapid overview of the Elephants and Bees Project (www.elephantsandbees.com) where in depth research into elephant behaviour as enabled the discovery that elephants fear disturbed honey bees and will run away from them. This discovery has led to the invention of 'beehive fences’, which are being used in Kenya to help protect the boundaries of small 1-2 acre shamba's from crop-raiding elephants
