JSD Year 1 Newsletter

Week Ending Friday 13th December 2013

What have Year 1 been doing this week?

What a great week. The children have loved doing their performances and it was wonderful to see so many people in the audiences.

This week the children have been working hard on their speaking and listening and carried out a range of winter activities as their ‘Emperor’s Egg’ topic drew to a close. Snow Day on Friday was a wonderful way to end this fantastic topic. Photos will be uploaded to Gateway soon and we will send you the link. A very BIG thank you to the parents who turned out to help the children to sew their penguins on Friday morning. Plus an extra big thank you to the mum of Lukas who cut out all the felt penguins. We could not have done it without you all.

Library books will not be sent out over the holidays, so please ensure that library books are returned to class by Tuesday 17th December.

Likewise we will collect in all reading books and reading folders on Tuesday 17th December too. Reading books will not be sent home over the holidays.

On Thursday 19th December Year 1 and Year 2 will have a morning of activities and a small party in the afternoon. Thank you to the Year 1 class mums for organising the party food. On Thursday the children can wear their party clothes to school.

Next week we say goodbye to Janelle and Charlotte in D1LS. We wish them both well in their new adventure.
