Welcome Back Cubs!

No Excuses University @ Bear Creek

At Bear Creek, we are proud to be a member of the No Excuses University Network. As a No Excuses School we believe that every student has a right to be educated in a way that prepares them for college. We discuss goals, have college conversations, and end our announcements each day with the phrase "After high school comes college"!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL-Monday, August 19th-We will open the hallway doors at 7:30. All parents are welcome to walk their students to class the first two days of school without checking in at the office. After Tuesday, any time you visit the school you will need to check-in at the office. Don't forget to bring your ID.

*Some kindergarteners may need a little extra help getting to class the first few days but all students should be walking to class independently by the end of the week.

LUNCH VISITS-We ask that parents/grandparents not come eat with their child during the first week of school. This allows us to teach our students lunch time procedures and expectations. In addition, this allows our students time to interact and build relationships with their new classmates. Thank you for your support! Lunch visits start the week August 26th.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:

Students arriving between 7:15 and 7:30 should go to the cafeteria (Pre-K, 3rd-5th) or gym (K-2nd) where staff members supervise them. The double doors to the main halls will open at 7:30 each day and the tardy bell will ring at 7:40 a.m.

To help with efficiency and ease traffic congestion, students will exit the building from various points to a designated location. For student safety, please meet your children at the appropriate dismissal location. Pre-K and Kindergarten students will sit by class under the awning in the bus circle. Older siblings of kindergarten students will be allowed to be picked up in the bus circle also. 1st-5th grade students will sit in front of the school at their designated spot. Parents will place a car sign in their window and pull up to the last spot available and wait for their student to be called and walk to the car.

Thank you for your patience at dismissal. It takes a team effort to safely and efficiently dismiss our large Bear Creek family!
