Message from Dr. Malally
Hello-
It was a really busy short week last week, and it feels like the holidays are coming up way too fast. I hope you all had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful three day weekend!
Bullying Assemblies in 4th - 6th Grade
Last Tuesday and Wednesday, I joined our School Psychologist, Dr. Frost as she shared a bullying presentation with our upper grade students in their classrooms. We went over what bullying is and what it is not, as well as the Outreach Box that is located in the Library. The Outreach Box is an anonymous way to report concerns that students may observe or experience that I can address along with our staff. Our upper grade students were very engaged and participated We all talked about standing up to a bullying, and when you see something, you should say something. I have included a video that we shared with the student below that talks about the different types of bullying.

Apple Distinguished School
We are excited and proud to announce that Condit has been recognized for the third time as an Apple Distinguished School. Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of leadership and educational excellence that demonstrate Apple's vision for learning with technology — and Apple believes they are some of the most innovative schools in the world.
Our site team completed our application this past June. We were notified of our recognition, just a few weeks ago and given permission to make the official announcement early last week.
A special thanks to all of our Teams at Condit, and especially the writing team (Mrs. Alvarado, Mrs. Kammert-Watson, Mrs. Robbin, and me)! Condit continues to make huge strides in innovation. I have attached a PDF of our "application" below. Be sure to check out all of the amazing things we highlighted about Condit.

COVID 19 Flow Chart for Students
The 100 Mile Club in 2022-2023
2022-2023 Miles
"Outside of school" miles in 2022-2023 will need to have specific documentation attached to miles earned. Please utilize the tracking sheets below to keep track of your students outside miles. We will NOT be counting miles from devices for daily steps/miles walked or sports played. Miles will need to be specific to acquiring miles intended to go towards 100 Mile Club miles. Outside miles should be turned in to Dr. Malally periodically (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) throughout the year. A lump sum of miles submitted at the end of the year will not be counted towards outside miles. Please use the attached 100 Mile Club Tracking Sheets below and turn them into Dr. Malally.
Our next Saturday 100 Mile Club will be on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM on our track. Students DO NOT NEED to bring their 100 Mile Club tags from the classroom. We will have extra cards available for students and families to participate.
100 Mile Club Information
Since 1993, 100 Mile Club® has been the elite school-based program leading the effort in the prevention of childhood inactivity and obesity across the nation. The award-winning 100 Mile Club program improves the health and well-being of children at school through daily physical activity in a noncompetitive, supportive, and fully-inclusive environment.
The 100 Mile Club is much more than just a running program. It changes lives by improving school readiness to learn, increasing student and family engagement, and creating a true “team spirit” that transforms school culture. Embracing the whole child concept, 100 Mile Club benefits the physical, social, emotional, and mental aspects of students. Condit has participated in the 100 Mile Club for over 10 years.
The goal of the 100 Mile Club is for each student to run or walk 100 miles in a school year. Dr. Malally will continue circulating through classrooms on Fridays to recognize these accomplishments, however students will initially receive a shout out to signify their 25 miles, along with an order form. Parents will have the option to purchase the 100 Mile Club incentive package for $15, which includes the t-shirt (25 miles), golden pencil (50 miles), bracelet (75 miles), and finally the 100 Mile Medal that is awarded at our Medal Ceremony at the end of the school year.
