Parents Please Watch: Hybrid Transition to Distance Learning
Hybrid Learning Model Update:
10/23/20: We have been closely monitoring the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Anoka County. The latest data shows that the current COVID-19 positivity rate in Anoka is 33.6 per 10,000 county residents. According to the Minnesota Safe Learning Plan, secondary school students participating in hybrid models are to transition to full-time distance learning when positivity cases reach 30+ cases per 10,000.
As a result, our MDH Regional Support Team has indicated that Anoka County secondary schools will be required to transition to full distance learning. This is not a requirement that we can opt out of – we are mandated to comply with this requirement according to the Governor’s Executive Order 20-82 for safe learning and Minnesota’s Safe Learning Plan guidelines.
As we plan to comply with this requirement, we wanted to share the following information with district staff:
October 30: Last day of hybrid learning for FMS/FHS/ALC students participating in hybrid learning
November 2 & 4: FMS/FHS/ALC Hybrid Teachers/staff planning time
November 3: NO SCHOOL FOR ALL STUDENTS: District-wide Professional Development
November 5: First day of full distance learning for FMS/FHS/ALC students participating in hybrid learning model
Please note that this change only affects FMS/FHS/ALC students in the hybrid model. The elementary hybrid program, elementary distance learning program, and FMS/FHS/ALC Fridley Online Academy programs will remain unchanged. All students in these programs will remain on the same schedule they are currently in.
