What is going on?
Math- All week we are going to be reviewing our place value skills. We will be dipping our toe into playing with numbers larger than 999. I have a ton of fun interactive websites and games to spark interest during this time of year. We will be checking out 100,000,000 and looking at expanded notation.
Social Studies: We are going to wrap up Economics this week or I will die trying. We are also looking at how technology and science have changed over time.
Reading- We have been and will be actively engaged in book clubs like a third grader. I am getting them ready to fly the nest!
We are also going to be working on plays and elements of drama! (this class has this covered) We will be noticing the mechanics of a play. We will also be looking at imagery, conflict and resolution. We will be working on expression and prosody. At the end of the week, they will be working on performing a play. They will make props etc. Next week, they will be writing their own plays.
Writing- We are doing a research project that ties in with reading. Everyone will be researching about an animal and gathering information this week and next. We will be using multiple sources: books, experts (people), and the internet. We will be writing an ALL About book as the final piece. If they finish their All About books. I have a fun website for the children to make a comic strip.
