Principal's Pen

Dear Bishop Baraga Trekkers,

We are already in our third week of Lent. At the bottom of this newsletter I am sharing a reflection on the Stations of the Cross by Bishop Robert Barron. Many of our parishes are having the Stations of the Cross on Fridays, but if you have not been able to attend, this is a beautiful way to reflect on the Passion of Christ.

Our students will be having Stations of the Cross of Friday, March 19th, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Janusz. I invite all of you to join us that afternoon at St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish. We will also be having a morning of Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, March 26th. This is a 1/2 day of school and the last day of school before Easter Break. Father Janusz will have Exposition right after the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Then the different classes will have time in prayer in front of the Eucharist. At 10:30 a.m. all the students will return to the Church for Benediction. This is a wonderful way to begin our Easter Break, and I invite you to join us that morning for Mass, Adoration, or Benediction.

It is Reading Month and we have quite a few dress down days for the students. Tomorrow is one of them. It is Read Your Clothing Day. Students can dress down, and they should wear clothing with words.

This week our Caught Being a Christian Award goes to Summer Neveu. Summer held the door for Mrs. Moln and when Mrs. Moln said, "Thank you," she replied, "You're welcome!" Summer was practicing the virtue of courtesy. Great job, Summer!

Have a wonderful week!

God bless,

Angela Oller

A Busy Week in Pre-Kindergarten

The pre-kindergarten had a busy week full of fun activities. Below you can see some of the sensory activities they did, including making oobleck and studying worms. In the midst of all that they still found time to celebrate pirate day!

Second Grade

On Tuesday, March 4th, the second grade class celebrated something they called Army Day because it was time to "march forth" and read! You can see the students reading in the tents Mrs. Smith brought to school.
