CONCORD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FIGHT SONG CHALLENGE
MARCH IS READING MONTH
March is Reading Month activities begin Monday, March 1st. Our theme will be “Read S’More at Camp Read-A-Lot” as we celebrate throughout the month with fun dress-up days, weekly prize drawings, special visitors and more.
Children are encouraged to read at home, with a daily goal of 15 minutes for kindergarten-2nd grade, and a daily goal of 20 minutes for 3rd-5th grade. Minutes may include your child reading to self or to others, or you reading aloud to your child. Keep track of minutes on the reading log for all reading done at home, and return it to school each Thursday beginning March 4 for a chance to win some awesome prizes each week. Students meeting the minimum weekly goal will receive one ticket for the weekly prize drawing. Students doubling the goal will receive an extra ticket. The more they read, the more chances they have to win!
Here is the calendar and reading log
SPRING CONFERENCES
Spring parent-teacher conferences will be held next week on Wednesday, March 3. Please see the information below for information on how each building will handle the conference period.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Spring parent-teacher conferences are to be held virtually on Wednesday, March 3rd from 4-6pm. These conferences are set up to ensure that each child will continue to the end of the school year with the best chances of success. Team conferences are arranged at the request of teachers or parents for students struggling in terms of academics, behavior, or attendance. Please review your child’s grades at ps.concordschools.net/public/home.html. If you do not have your child’s log in information, please contact the front office at 517-524-8854.

Elementary and Middle School SEL Corner
This week both our Elementary and Middle School wrapped up their focus on kindness; our students showcased their kindness skills in awesome ways across the K-8 building! If you have any last-minute contributions to our CMS Cans for Kindness drive, please bring them in on Monday.
Next week our K-8 students will continue to fine-tune their Relationship Skills. Our CES students will start exploring a new Trait of the Week on Monday (appreciation) while our Middle School students focus on, "I have positive relationships with others by using my communication and social skills.”
Also, be sure to check out our Friday Announcements for a list of fantastic, KIND YellowJackets of the Week!
REPEATED UPDATES AND REMINDERS SECTION
ATHLETIC TICKET SALES
All ticket sales will be online and money WILL NOT be collected at the door. Tickets will go on sale at 12:00 pm on the day before each game for family and friends of players (4-tickets per participant). Coaches and players will receive an access code that will allow you to purchase tickets. At 8:00 am on the day of the game, tickets will go on sale for ANYONE that would like a ticket and the access code is NOT needed. This will be posted on the Concord Athletic Department Facebook and Twitter page. Tickets will sell out at 250 tickets at HS Gym and 100 at MS Gym. Tickets are $5, plus handling costs.
When you enter the event, you will need to simply show our ticket person your ticket on your smartphone. For those that do not have a smartphone, we will have a printed record of those that purchased tickets. There are no passes at this time, other than game workers that are helping at the event and Concord staff that has a player on the team. This will allow an opportunity for more fans to attend basketball games and allow us to keep track for contact tracing purposes.
Thank you for your patience!
