SHOW LOW PUBLIC LIBRARY
November 2015 News
StoryWalk @ Show Low Bluff Trail
Come visit the new StoryWalk™ at Show Low Bluff Trail. A StoryWalk is a book that is literally torn apart and placed along a path or trail, an activity designed to foster literacy and a love of the outdoors. The story, “Over in the Meadow” by Ezra Jack Keats, begins at the trailhead at 769 S. White Mountain Road. The 1.5-mile trail is rated easy to moderate for hikers and mountain bikers with the story covering the first quarter-mile. This project was created by Show Low Public Library, which was one of 62 organizations in the United States to receive a 2015 Mini-Grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation. You can find directions and more information at our website: http://showlowaz.gov/809/StoryWalk.
International Games Day
We will join over a thousand libraries around the world on November 21, 2015, for the eighth annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ Your Library. Community members can visit the library on Saturday to play one of the library’s many games. Registered cardholders can borrow a board, card or video game from the library’s newest game collections. International Games Day @ Your Library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, and Nordic Game Day.
