Charles Sumner
Charles Sumner was a leading abolitionist/republican during the Civil War. He was very supportive of reconstruction and established the freedmens bureau and a civil rights bill.
He is remembered as one of the more extreme enemies of slavery.

Education
Charles Sumner attended Harvard university in the 1828. When he graduated, he went to Harvard Law School, where he received a law degree in 1836.
