Greetings from Dr. Jones
Greetings Pirate Families,
It was great to meet and see a lot of families last week at Parent Teacher Conferences. I hope everyone took advantage of the opportunity to meet with our staff that works with your young people every day. The second quarter has begun and we look forward to opening the new edition of our school. We are less than two months away before we open the doors for students, parents, and our community to see the great space our students will have on a daily basis.
November and December are times in the year when clubs and organizations are busy highlighting the great things taking place in the school. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or be involved in the upcoming months as our goal is to involve our parents and community with the great things students are doing on a daily basis. In the upcoming months, there will be several opportunities to participate in the following: Pirate Community Day, Pirate Partners (eating lunch with students), The Diversity Fair, and Kindness Week.
Thanks again for all your support!

Bullying and Safety Concerns: Safe Schools Online Reporting System
Safety is a top priority of PCR-3 and to help safeguard our school community, our district uses SafeSchools Alert, a tip-reporting service by Vector Solutions, that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration.
You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, or any safety issue you're concerned about through this online reporting system. On the homepage of the District website and on each school building's homepage there is a Safe Schools quicklink to the reporting tool.
Every tip Vector Solutions receives about our district is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so that they can investigate and take appropriate action. Tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer. Together, we can make our district a safer place to learn.
The Treasure Chest: Connecting Student Needs with Community Resources
The Treasure Chest, located between Platte County High School and Dairy Queen in Platte City, is a stocked resource center providing food, toiletries, clothing, and other home supplies to PCR-3 students and families in need. It is open for families and donors on an appointment basis (by calling your school social worker or 816-858-7001), as well as on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Follow the Treasure Chest on Facebook to learn of most-needed items; donations can be delivered to the barrels in any PCR-3 building.
PCHS PTSA Membership
Please join the PCHS Parent Student Teacher Association for the 2022-23 school year. The PCHS PTSA supports teachers with meals during parent-teacher conferences and Teacher and Staff appreciation. Pirates ROCK Character Trait: CITIZENSHIP (November)
Pirates ROCK (Raising Outstanding Character Kids) is a program designed to surround our families with examples of strong character traits through school experiences, at home, and reinforced in their community. Each month our community focuses on a specific character trait and students are recognized for exhibiting these traits: Self Confidence, Pride, Responsibility, Citizenship, Compassion, Individuality, Self Control, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, Honesty, and Cooperation.
November's #PiratesROCK trait is CITIZENSHIP: providing service and duty to your community
