Young girl with untreated depression commits suicide

Kiki, a 16 year old girl, was diagnosed with depression at age 13.After the passing of her mother, Kiki showed many signs of major depression. Her father took her to a doctor who diagnosed her with major depression. On her 15th birthday, Kiki's father was hit by a drunk driver and killed on impact. She soon was placed with her aunt. " We never saw eye to eye, but I never would have thought she would hit this point,"her aunt told us. According to her uncle, they didn't have the money to pay for her medications needed to treat her depression. After a year of untreated depression, Kiki committed suicide using a gun belonging to her uncle.

Short story

When John was 14, he lost his mother to breast cancer. She had stage 4 when she was first diagnosed, however she was beating it. But, the cancer came back and attacked stronger than ever. She passed away during her sleep June 10, 2014. It's been two years. John is 16 now, and has been diagnosed with depression. He sees a psychiatrist four times a week. He gets bullied every day, which doesn't help. He hates his life, and has ever since. He doesn't want to leave this world, leave his dad by himself. However, he doesn't want to be here either. He has a few friends at school, but after school he doesn't associate with them. He goes straight home and sleeps. He rarely leaves his room, and rarely eats. He's easily annoyed and sees the worst in everything. He's always anxious and is slow to answer which is another reason he gets bullied. He is on many anti-depressants and anxiety pills, which only causes him to get bullied more. It's a vicious cycle. But he's not giving up anytime soon. He will beat depression and prove those who bully him wrong.

14.8 million.

That's the big number.

14.8 million adults in the world are diagnosed with depression.

My case my slightly differ, however aren't we all alike?

We may be the same,

But I will be different.

I will stand out.

I will not let depression control my life.

I can win against depression.

I will beat it.

I will win.
