Jump Rope Club (Fridays - February through May)
It is that time of year again to keep our students active during these cold winter months. Starting every Friday from February 1 to May 10 (8:00am - 8:47am), student(s) can be dropped off early to “burn off” some energy prior to the start of the school day. Registration will only be through MySchoolAnyWhere. There is a requested donation of $5 per family. You can come and jump for as many of the Fridays that you like. So if you missed the first one (or two or three) you can still join in the fun. We also ask to bring a change of shoes (gym shoes preferred) to keep our gym clean on wet and snowy winter mornings. We are also looking for volunteers to help turn ropes and supervise. To register and/or volunteer, please visit the MSA site at https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/login.a5w
*NEW* Show the Love - Bountiful Harvest Food Can Drive- (February 11-15)
Starting Monday (Valentines Day week), we thought this would be a wonderful time to “Show the Love” to others in our community. We would like our students to collect non perishable food items and/or money that will be donated to our local Food Pantry, Bountiful Harvest. There will be a little friendly competition between the grades to see who can “Show the Most Love”.
School Assembly - Karin and Darrin Brege (February 18)
The Best Selling Author and Illustrator Karin and Darrin Brege (from Brighton) will be giving a entertaining assembly to our students on February 18. Order forms will be coming home if you would like to order an autographed copy of one of their books. Thank you Watts family for sponsoring this event.
Popcorn Friday (February 22)
The next Popcorn Friday will be on February 22. For $0.25 (or a Toe Token) your child(ren) can purchase popcorn popped by Hilton’s parents during lunchtime. To volunteer, just visit https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/login.a5w.
Family Science Night (February 27) *New Option*
Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, February 27, from 5-7pm, Hilton will host a Family Science Night which will take place of the traditional Science Fair. Our students will have a choice to either enter a judged competition or submit a family project just for educational fun! The family project is a new option for our students and families to learn together. The projects can be a demonstration project or a fun “take-away”. The choice is yours!
There will also be local companies conducting demonstrations. This is a free family learning event. All registrations must be completed by February 8. Registration can be completed at www.MySchoolAnywhere.com All documents are printed and available in the office or under “files” on the Hilton PTO Facebook page. Parents can drop off projects on Tuesday, February 26, from 6 to 8 pm. We are looking for many volunteers for this event. To offer your time and talent, please visit https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/login.a5w. If you have any questions, please email Lauren Coffman or Tracie Nord at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Book Fair (February 27 and 28)
Hilton will be hosting a Book Fair for 4pm to 7pm on February 27th and 28th. The books that will be on sale will be selected specially for our Hilton family. We do not have hours during the school day for students to shop alone. Come, enjoy and support our school library!
Annual Lunch with a Loved Once (March 1)
On Friday, March 1 we will host "Lunch with a Loved One". Students may invite any special adult to join them for lunch and then visit the Book Fair during recess time. This event is popular with grandparents, as well as, moms and dads. Younger siblings are welcome.

Hilton Art Club Spring 2019
The moment your creative kids have been waiting for is here, it’s time for Art Club! This will be a very STEAM-y Art Club session as we learn about Kinetic Art! Kinetic Art is art that moves. We'll learn both static and kinetic art techniques, and we'll then experiment with a few different ways to put our creations in motion. The pinnacle project of this session will be making and assembling a lamp, and if we're lucky...it will spin! We'll also work on creating a mobile and a wire sculpture. Art club dates are as follows, Mondays immediately after school until 5:30pm each day. Students will meet in the cafeteria:
(Spring break week)
Cost of $25 per artist can be paid by cash, check or through the MySchoolAnywhere store. Checks sent to school should be made out to HILTON PTO (Please add your child's name(s) to the memo of the check.) Jk and Kinder students MUST have an adult in attendance with them each week.Questions? Contact Club Coordinator Charlotte Perkins: 810-623-4887 or email@example.com.
Hilton Hound Dog Apparel
The following websites are local businesses which now sell Hilton Hound Dog items. Please check them out.
Finland & Fawn Boutique
Artsonia Online Art Gallery
Everyone should have received an email to approve access to Artsonia. The artwork created by our students will be now uploaded to this new online art gallery. You will be able to view your child(ren)’s art online, share with others, create a fan club and order keepsakes. Volunteers are still in the process of uploading artwork to this new system. So please keep checking back. If you have not received an email for approval or have any questions, please contact your PTO at HiltonPTO@gmail.com
Hilton Recycling Program
Hilton receives money for recycled paper! There is a green dumpster outside the school located next to Hilton Road. Every Friday, Ms. Michael’s class collects recycled paper throughout the school and places it in the dumpster. You can donate also! But only paper please (no cardboard or phone books). It is an easy way for our school to earn money while teaching students how to protect the environment!
Hilton Elementary is now enrolled in the Kroger Rewards Program. Please support our school by linking Hilton Elementary to your Kroger Rewards Card. Hilton’s number is 68151 or you can just type the school name in the search window at https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards
How fun would it be to shop, while at the same time, earning money for our school? Amazon Smile (https://smile.amazon.com) is through Amazon.com, in which they donate money for most items purchased through their website. The fun part is that the website keeps a running total on your account to see how much money you donate to
the school just by shopping with them. Check out this 30 second video to see how you can add a shortcut to your (mobile) home screen to ensure all your Amazon purchases benefit Hilton Elementary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWgglu7ZCDE.
Coca Cola/Powerade Give
Attention all Coca Cola and Powerade drinkers! Another way to earn money for Hilton Elementary is through the Coca Cola Give Program. By collecting Coca Cola caps and codes, Hilton can earn money to purchase supplies for physical education, sports, technology and/or arts. Most Coca-Cola beverages that have a product code under its cap, or printed on its paper packaging, are eligible to be used for donation. Here is a link to the reference list of participating brands
https://us.coca-cola.com/participating-brands. Please collect these clean items in a plastic bag and send to school with your child. There is a drawer in the office for collections.
If you are planning to volunteer at school at all this year, BAS requires a background check. Here is the link to complete this step:
