At 9.45 pm that night the president of South Korea, Dr Sygman Rhee made an urgent appeal to General Douglas MacArthur. He asked for aid to help defend against North Korea. After this conversation General MacArthur called for all American troops in Japan to return to America in readiness to help South Korea.
At this moment in time South Korea has the help of America, Great Britain and the United Nations. North Korea however is greatly out match with only receiving help from China and the Soviet Union. If this war is to go any further, it is believed that it will have a devastating effect on Korea.
