District Digest
Glen Ellyn School District 41
SIP Day - March 27
This Friday is a scheduled SIP Day and it will remain a SIP Day. Students will still be provided assignments on the SIP day. Starting at noon, teachers will not be available to students as they will be engaged in their own professional development and learning with their principals.
Spring Break is Next Week
District 41 will not be providing e-learning assignments over spring break, March 30 - April 3. We hope this provides students with a well-deserved brain break and families can focus on some fun activities. We will be providing some fun options through our district website. Please continue to practice social distancing during this time and enjoy spending this time home with your families.
Surviving and Thriving in the Face of Crisis with Dr. Zarse - Live Stream
The DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE) and Glen Ellyn School District 41 invites everyone across our community to join us for an evening with Dr. Nancy Zarse of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Zarse is an expert in the field of crisis and resilience and has worked on very high profile cases both nationally and internationally.
Through a series of ongoing live-streamed events, Dr. Zarse will help our communities learn how to manage crises in a healthy and constructive way. Together, we will learn how to focus on those things in our life that are in our control and how to harness the power of community to help us all thrive in the coming weeks.
The first live stream event will be TONIGHT March 25, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
You can access the live stream HERE
Thank you to the firm of Franczek P.C. for sponsoring this series.

Hadley Student Connects with Professional Composer from Home
Hadley 6th grader Lucas German reached out to Hadley Band Directors Jim DePalo and Samantha Tribley and told them about a possible concert piece he was interested in learning to play. While at home last week, the student found a new piece of music online (on SmartMusic) and wrote his thoughts on the piece and how it related to another piece they were playing in band by the same composer, Randall Standridge.
Mr. DePalo and Mrs. Tribley reached out to the composer to share what Lucas had thought of his music and the composer wrote back!
Thank you for the shout out. After such a rough week, this made me smile. Please tell your student that he definitely brightened my weekend. And I hope my music is doing the same for him. - Randall D. Standridge

Great work on this virtual enrichment opportunity in music, Hadley Band! Never stop learning!

Community and Staff Strategic Plan Feedback Survey
Prior to the school closing, the Strategic Planning Committee completed the Data Retreat portion of the strategic planning process. The team went through a number of activities including a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis and the results have been posted. Click here for the Data Retreat results. The next step is to collect feedback from the entire staff and the community. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our in person focus group, but please see below links to surveys to help us gather your feedback about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of District 41 as identified by the Strategic Plan Committee.
Thank you for your understanding as we adjust the process to accommodate the closure of our school district buildings. We hope you will continue to engage with us online!
