Weatherbee Chess
The Weatherbee Chess Club will start on Tuesday, 10/04/2022 from 7:30-8:30am in the Weatherbee library. We will meet every Tuesday morning until May. The permission form for the chess club is in the Weatherbee backpack icon. Please have your Weatherbee Bobcat bring in the permission slip to the office before 10/04/2022. Your Weatherbee Bobcat can join thereafter at any time, provided they have the permission form.
If your chess player would like to compete against other schools, they can play on the chess team. The chess team is not the chess club. The chess team will be competing in 10 tournaments throughout the state and a chess team members are required to attend Saturday practices. It is not mandatory to attend all practices, but you are required to show up for most of the tournaments. It is good to show up at the tournaments and support your teammates, like any other sport. The first tournament in the Maine Chess Grand Prix League will be held at our own Hampden Academy on National Chess Day, 10/08/2022. Most of the chess team members from last year will be competing this year. If your student will be new to the chess team, they will have the help, support, and experience of the veteran players and Coach Bishop. The Weatherbee chess team permission form is also in the Weatherbee backpack. If you would like additional information, you can contact coach David Bishop at:

Allison O'Neil
Hello! My name is Alli O'Neil and I am very excited about my first year at Weatherbee as a school social worker! I look forward to getting to know each student. I will be hosting lunch bunch, small groups, and checking in with students one-on-one. I am happy to be here and thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Weatherbee team!
Anne Carchedi
I am the technology teacher at the Weatherbee and McGraw schools and I'm very happy to be part of the RSU22 community. I grew up in Bangor, taught tech for many years in Boston, and recently moved back to Maine. I love all types of technology and learning about new things. Reading and traveling are activities I enjoy in my spare time.
