Dear Duveneck Dragon Community,
There are some very important documents and events coming up in our school district that I encourage you to follow and participate in. As you know, the school board set the date of October 12 as the possible start of the Hybrid learning model for elementary schools. The staff proposal to the Board of Education for in-person return dates would be:
TK-1: October 12
2-3: October 26
4-5: November 9
6-12: January 7
The Board of Education has a meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 6:30-10:30 PM to discuss and review this proposal. To log into this meeting, please go to the PAUSD website or look for an email from the district with this information prior to the day of the meeting.
Dr. Austin will be hosting a Webinar on Monday, September 21 at 5:30 PM. This will give you yet another forum to learn more about the changes that may be coming to our elementary program.
Finally, this Friday, September 18, in the Board Docs section of PAUSD’s website, Dr. Austin will be posting the Return to Campus Roadmap. This document is a comprehensive report that covers health and safety, instruction, facilities and transportation, governance, FAQ’s, and references and resources that we will follow when we bring students back to campus.
As we proceed into the fall season, we are also proceeding into a change from distance learning to a hybrid learning model for our students. There will be a survey sent out to all families sometime next week that will ask you to decide on which program you want your child to participate in be it distance learning or hybrid. To make an informed choice, I believe it is important to gain knowledge about this change, ask questions and participate in the meetings mentioned above.
