The Mouse and the Scientist

By Bethany Hill

There once was a colony of young mice that lived in a lab. Every once in a while the head scientist, Dr. Leep, would take a random mouse out to do an experiment with. One day, Dr. Leep took out a small mouse, Bobbie who was the runt of her litter. What she didn't know, was that Bobbie was a very strong and clever mouse. Dr. Leep had Bobbie run a series of obstacle courses to determine if something-or-other worked. The point is, since Bobbie was not a normal female mouse, Bobbie had totally different results that what Dr. Leep expected. So Dr. Leep took Bobbie to her house.

The next morning, Bobbie found out that she could talk! While dr. Leep was having breakfast, Bobbie jumped up on the table and said,"Hey, Dr.---"

Dr. Leep spit out her Apple Jacks. " Leep" she finished, "is it possible I can have some of that Extra sharp Cheddar in there?" Dr. Leep spit out her Apple Jacks again. "How did you know that ?" she demanded. " I am a very clever mouse, Dr. Just because I am small doesn't mean I am stupid. You really shouldn't judge a book by its cover." she finished.
