Suzuki's Eco Page: SuzukiFuture
Our students have been putting some of our environmental goals and accomplishments on a webpage. Still under construction, but worth a peek:
Buckle-Up
Student presentations were made separately to staff and student groups about carbon emissions in general from all energy use and especially from car exhaust.

Do you like bottled water? Our students thought so too, until a blind taste test showed them that they actually prefer tap water! Good thing too, it's safer and much better for the environment.
Eco Mural
Suzuki believes in doing things green, and nothing says that like our new mural by the ARt club and other volunteers! Our courtyard now looks amazing in green with stenciled trees, modeled after native oaks. You might not be surprised that we have a short video about the process!
A semester of environmental work
Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Technology and core values of Caring and Responsibility all come together in many of our environmental projects. Have a peek at some of the highlights of a semester of environmental responsibility:

Student Eco Leadership Blog
Our environmental leaders tweet and post to Facebook, but did you know they also blog? We have a blog where we cooperate with other schools on eco projects. Another one of our blogs is linked here. Have a peek at this post about our waste audit!
Suzuki Saving the Stream
Dr. Suzuki asked us to take care of our local stream. That stream is home to an endangered species, but we have been worried about the effect of development and let on steam health. That is why Suzuki classes partnered with EcoSpark to do a formal river study. Initial results seem to show that the steam is in moderate health. We plan to work to improve that, starting with our Spring garbage clean-up!

Our Outdoor Classroom!
Coming in third nationally in the outdoor classroom competition last year was a great feat that we could not have accomplished without everyone's support. Now, with a grant from TD Friends of the Environment, we have finally completed phase one. Classes have begun to use the space and are already loving learning outside! Thank you so much for your support.
