Week of February 11th
For the Love of February!
Extra love is in the air this week as Valentines Day approaches this Thursday! Classroom walls are splattered with hearts and arrows, poems and conversation hearts are being written, and sweet valentines are being prepared to pass out to friends and teachers!
February is also the month for Random Acts of Kindness. Usually celebrated on February 17th, Random Act of Kindness week allows students, staff, and teachers to pass on kindness and make the world a better place. Students take part in activities that allow them to reach out to others and lend a kind hand. Be on the look out for our ROAK activities, it's always inspiring to see how kind we can be to one another!

Rebecca is a Scorpio born on November 19th!
Her favorite holiday is Christmas!
Her favorite hobbies include quilting and riding motorcycles!
Her favorite movie is The Goonies!
Her favorite book is 'Oh the Places, You'll Go' by Dr. Seuss!
Mrs. Taylor is very much a furry friend lover!
She adores her animals- Harley, Honey, Pearl, and Kemah!
Rebecca's favorite quote she tends to live by is- "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain."
When asked if she had a hero, Mrs. Taylor responds, "my parents!"
We wanted to dig a little deeper and discover how she got to where she is today, Mrs Taylor tells us she was in college basketball, married, had Braidyn and watched God's miracle as he was born with a heart defect, conquered cancer, divorced, found love and remarried, and is loving every single new day! I can speak for Mrs. Taylor and say she is a strong and inspiring woman!
Mrs. Taylor is most proud of her son, Braidyn!
Mrs. Taylor has an infectious energy and brings light to our kiddos here at Alkek!
Thanks for all you do! Enjoy your spotlight!
