What's Happening This Week

AMS SPRING FOOTBALL INFO

Spring practice Dates: May 16, 17, 18

Practice Times will be from 3:40-5:40 (Wed Practice ends at 5:10)


***All paperwork must be completed and turned in before any student may participate in Spring Workouts, which includes up to date physical and insurance info.***

UPDATE AMS Girls Basketball Tryouts Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24

Coach Newton (New AMS Girls Basketball Coach) will be hosting the final girls basketball tryouts:

Monday, May 23 from 9-11am in the AMS Gym

Tuesday, May 24 from 5-7pm in the AMS Gym

All tryouts will be closed to the public and parents.


Tuesday, May 24 following tryouts there will be a parent meeting at 7pm in the AMS gym.

Tuesday, May 17

  • AMS FCA Meeting at 7:30am in the small auditorium
  • AMS School Awards Day at 8:30am -10am - Doors will open after the first bell rings at 8:05am

  • AHS Graduation at 7pm at Golden Eagle Stadium

  • NO EXAMS Last Day for Students Dismissal will be at 11:30am Buses will run normal routes.

SUMMER VACATION STARTS

Report Cards will be mailed to all students. Students who owe any debt will not receive final report cards until all debts have been paid.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Tools for School Supply Give A Way - July 16, 2016

New Life Assembly of God in partnership with Sole Mission and numerous local businesses is hosting a FREE school supply give-a-way. Items to be given are a backpack, grade level school supplies, a brand new pair of tennis shoes and a voucher for a free haircut. Registration begins May 23rd and is limited to the first 300 Athens City School District students grades K-12. Registration is required, but NO specific income criteria will need to be met in order to receive the free supplies. You may register online at www.athensnewlife.com or Mon-Fri 9am-1pm at the church office (16768 US Hwy 72 W, Athens, AL 35611).

AHS Volleyball Camp Summer 2016 June 28th - 30th

Volleyball instruction will be directed by Varsity Coaches and college players.


  • VB Skills Camp Ages 5-10 8am-11am $50 (Includes T-Shirt) Ages 11 and Up - 1pm -4pm $50 (Includes T-Shirt)
  • Hitter and Setter Camp - Ages 11and Up 4pm - 5:30pm $20 (Must be attending skills camp)
  • Registration Deadline is June 20th- Insures your Tshirt order

AHS Baseball Camp Summer 2016

The camp is based on instruction in the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and pitching. Campers will practice and compete with campers in their age group. Ages 5 - 12. The camp is June 6 - 8, (Monday - Wednesday). 9:00 a.m. - noon.
