2016 HOMECOMING PARADE

Amanda Moore Elementary School will be marching in the 2016 Homecoming Parade. The Parade will be Wednesday, October 19. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and travel from the Romeo Lions Field to the Village Park. We are encouraging all Amanda Moore students, staff and families to join us in wearing red and white and marching in the parade. If you are able to march with us, please be at the Romeo Lions Field by 6:00 p.m. Look for the Amanda Moore banner!

Halloween Parade and Parties

Halloween is a favorite day for many of our students. The opportunity for students to dress up and pretend during school is nearly extinct in today's high stakes rigorous education world. I love watching children parade through the building in their costumes in anxious anticipation of their family and friends seeing them in the parade. Our traditional Halloween parade is always great. For those of you who are new to Amanda Moore, we create a path through the gym with chairs which allows for every seat in the house to be front row. All the students will parade through the building and gym and then back to their classes for an afternoon of games and treats. Our parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. sharp. Parents and family are welcome to come to the gym to select their parade viewing spot as early as 12:20 p.m.

We ask that students' costumes be easy to change into. We also ask that the costumes be sent to school in a bag and not worn to school. Due to the wide range of student ages, we ask that students select non-violent, non-frightening costumes for the school parade and party. Costumes which have weapons or look like weapons should be left at home.

If you are in need of any assistance in getting costumes for your children, please call the office. We have costumes available and can find ways to help so that all students can participate.

Notice from RCS Transportation Dept.

Bus Notes....

There has been some question as to whether or not notes to ride with friends are acceptable at this time. We are asking to hold off until things settle down, probably at least another month. We need to assure that new students, SOC, and alternate stops are taken care of before accommodating friends riding home with friends.

Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications

It is imperative that all families, whether you think you qualify or not, submit a free/reduced lunch application. Funding for our school is based on this very important information. If you have not yet applied, please click on the link below to complete an application.

In today's economy, every little bit helps!

Environmental Tip of the Month

Clean up after your pet

Most of us pick up after our pets to be a good neighbor and keep our yard clean. But, there’s another important reason. Pet waste contains bacteria that is harmful to us and our water. Leaving it on the sidewalk or lawn means harmful bacteria will be transported into the storm drains and then into our lakes and streams. So what can you do to help? Simple. Whether on a walk or in your yard, dispose of your pet’s waste promptly in the toilet or trash.
