Welcome Back! TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More
Clear Fork Elementary in Butler is looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year! This year’s theme will be “TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.” At Butler Elementary we believe that a child learns best when all stakeholders are involved in the educational process. Our teachers, essentials teachers, educational aides, and support staff are an integral part of the success of our building.
Our K-2 team will be working in their grade level teams to address phonemic awareness and phonics instruction to assist our struggling readers. Our 3-5 teams will work together to analyze their AIR test results and look for ways to address Ohio’s Learning Standards to begin closing the gap with our students. Mr. Kossick, our technology teacher, will be teaming up with our fourth and fifth grade math teachers as they collaborate on project based learning in the area of mathematics and technology. Mr. Bechtel, our physical education teacher, will be teaming up with our math coach and teachers to begin the process of introducing Flagway, an initiative from OSU-Mansfield’s Math Literacy Project. Finally, our special education team will continue to work collaboratively with their grade level teams to ensure that our students are receiving their education in the least restrictive environment.
Another game changer will be the installation of our new playground. After a two year hiatus, our students will have the opportunity to TEAM up and play outside in the fresh air on brand new equipment! TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More!” Go Colts!
We are looking forward to a fantastic year in Butler!

Pick Up and Drop Off Routines
Pick Up and Drop Off Rules to make your day and ours more pleasant!
The following recommendations are to ensure our students safety as well as maintain an efficient pick up and drop off routine.
Morning Drop Off
Students may be dropped off at 7:30 a.m.. Please do not drop off before 7:30; we do not have staff available to supervise students. On two hour delay days students may be dropped off at 9:30 a.m.
The driveway at the bottom will not be widened at this time. Please be patient and cautious as you enter and exit the driveway.
Watch for our students who are walking to school. Particularly in the winter when it is dark out.
Use common sense, if you are the only person in the driveway, you may drop your child off at the door.
If there are a number of cars in the driveway, please use the entire sidewalk in the U to line up cars and have your child exit on the RIGHT side or SIDEWALK side of the vehicle. Do not have them exit on the left side and into traffic.
Please be courteous to our families with children who have special needs. We work very hard to make sure they get out of their cars as quickly as possible. Please be patient and don’t speed off around cars in frustration.
PRESCHOOL DROP OFF
1. Preschool students may be dropped off at 7:55.
2. Please enter the driveway and stay in the right lane.
3. Preschool staff will come to your car to retrieve your child. It would be helpful to have them on the right side of the vehicle.
Pick Up
Students will begin coming out at 2:45. Last year, the line was done by 3:00. It is not necessary to line up early anymore.
Please write your child’s first and last name in a bold marker on a large piece of paper and keep it in your glove box. When waiting in line, please put it on your dashboard for our staff members to see.
Please be patient as our staff members work to put your children in vehicles. Safety is the number one priority!
As you line up, our staff members may be waving you to move forward. We have numbered spots that the students are directed to go stand at. Staff may wave you forward to that spot to make for a faster and more efficient pick up routine.
PRESCHOOL PICK UP
1. Preschool students will be released at 2:30. Please enter the driveway and use the left lane as you near the school.
2. Preschool staff members will place your child in your vehicle.
