Celebrate the Season with Christmas Cookie Decorating

Washington County Regional Center is again offering their annual Christmas Cookie Decorating event on Tuesday, December 17th from 6:30-7:30pm. Geared towards elementary-aged students, parents are asked to accompany their child(ren) for a fun-filled evening of cookie decorating and family time. Cookies, frosting, and all the extras are provided by Kirkwood and the mess stays here, not at home. Make this event a family tradition! Christmas Cookie Decorating

Cookie decorating for Christmas! Come and join us for a fun and festive time decorating holiday cookies. Pre-baked cookies and frosting, sprinkles, etc. will be provided. Each child will receive four different holiday shaped cookies to decorate. Parents are required to attend with their child(ren).

Low Impact Zumba

Join this exciting dance fitness class with upbeat Latin rhythms! This 6 session offering is a beginner level class designed for individuals with lower fitness levels, older adults, or anyone who wants a fun-filled lower impact exercise. This class has moves that you will love with exciting interaction and a lively atmosphere!

Tuition: $35 / 6 Sessions

Date: 01/13/20 to 01/29/20, Mondays & Wednesdays

Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm


Bend and Brew (Happy Hour Yoga)

Whether it is your behind or the bottle that is in the air, yoga and beer can bring enlightenment. Put them together and you have, well, a good time! Join a talented Blissed Out Movement instructor as she leads students through stretches, (while sipping), and bends (with beers) in a fun social environment you likely haven't experienced before. Do Happy Hour and Yoga as you have never done before! You might just think to yourself "NAMAST' AY for another!" Designed for beginners and experts alike. Must be 21 to attend.

NOTICE: Must be 21 to participate. Each student will receive one drink ticket for domestic beer of choice to enjoy.

OWI 12 Hour Program

This class is for those that were arrested for an OWI over the age of 18. It is designed to help each person reduce risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem by helping them understand and accept the need to make necessary changes to reduce the risk for future problems. The class meets state requirements under sections 321J.2 and 321J.17, Subsection 2, and is open to anyone wishing to better understand their problem. Students with limited English proficiency must provide their own interpreter.

Tuition: $180

Date: 02/07/20 & 02/08/20, Friday and Saturday

Time: Friday 6pm-10pm, Saturday 8am-5pm


Cork and Canvas Couples Night (BOGO)

Tired of the same old dinner and movie date night to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Try something new and uncork your creativity, along with your favorite bottle of wine (or drink of choice), in this fun couples painting class! No experience necessary, our artist instructor will guide couples step-by-step in the creation of their artwork. Come ready to have fun, relax, laugh, and sip while you paint! Must be 21 to attend.

NOTICE: Materials fee of $7 payable to instructor at class. Must be 21 to attend. Couples may bring drinks and snacks of their choice to enjoy while painting. “BOGO” offerings are priced for two participants. Only one person has to register and pay for the class. The second participant will be required to register during the first meeting time of the class.

Learn How To Quilt

Trying to make a quilt for the first time can be overwhelming and difficult to learn on your own. Where do you start? What materials/tools do you need? How in the world do you actually get all of the pieces stitched together? We’ve found the best place to start is to eliminate the guesswork and learn from an expert! In this class join Ann Leet, owner of Needle and Thread, as she guides students through a simple project and breaks down the process and each step of making a quilt. Projects will vary based on student experience and comfort level. This course is designed for the beginner, or advanced beginner, experience level.

Babysitting Basics

Being a great babysitter is more than just watching kids! This class is designed with the beginner babysitter in mind. Students will learn important skills such as first aid, infant and child CPR, what to do in case of choking, safety issues, diaper changing, games and easy meal ideas. Learners must be at least 10 years old to register.

SPRING BREAK

Construct and Create

Think woodworking is only for people of your grandparent’s age? Think again! This course will be high-powered in a lab full of equipment and power tools needed to make your own masterpiece! Students will learn to safely work with a variety of tools and processes used in the carpentry trade to create a project that is unique and one they will be proud to show their family and friends. This class is geared toward 5th – 8th grade students.

Tuition: $75

Welding Metal Arts

Plan to stay local for spring break? Then why not make your own heat by learning to weld and making sparks fly! Learn to cut and weld steel using wire welder, cutting torch and plasma cutter – just like the pros. No prior experience necessary and proper safety will be covered. Leather shoes, long sleeves and long pants are required. Projects will vary. Come ready to create, fabricate and weld. This class is geared towards students in 5th – 8th grades.

Tuition: $75
