Socks For Santa - We have a BIG GOAL
The third grade students have begun our annual 2 month service project in which we will be collecting new white cotton or thermal socks or cotton underwear to be distributed to homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and the elderly of our community.
We often don’t realize or simply forget that those in need have needs other than the need for food.
It is our hope that each student will participate by bringing a small package of socks or underwear each month ( November, and December) to be collected by third grade students. All donations will be given to Montachusett Home Care for distribution to residents who live in our school community area.
A small package of socks or underwear each month is a small price to pay for knowing that the elderly in our neighborhoods are going to be warm this winter.
Please consider helping those who are in need of socks or underwear for the cold winter ahead.
We have a big goal of receiving 500 socks, we will update you in our weekly buzz how we are doing.
Thank you!

During the last two weeks some parents of students new to St. Anna's or currently in Grades 1, 4 and 7 have received Physical Examination Reminders. Our school is in compliance with Massachusetts General Law (M.G.L.C.71, 5.57) which requires physical exams of school children within 6 mths before entry into school or during the first year after entry, and at intervals either 3 or 4 years thereafter. St. Anna School has designated those intervals to be:
1. School entry

4. Grade 7
Thank you to the parents who have already sent a copy of their child's physical exam. If there are any questions regarding this requirement please call the school health office between 9:30-1:30, Monday through Friday.

Cool Kids Cash Club
This program will allow students to being banking at school. They will learn the importance of saving and will be able to make deposits into their savings account twice a month. This is an easy and terrific way to start saving NOW for middle school field trips! Each year the 6th graders attend Nature’s Classroom at a cost of around $600. The Washington DC trip is held every other year so your child would have the opportunity to attend DC as either a 7th or 8th grader. This trip costs around $1000. If you being saving NOW, as early as preschool or Kindergarten, your child could easily save enough money to cover both of these trips by the time they become a middle school student!
Students will also learn skills about keeping a savings account pass book and other financial skills that are necessary to become financially responsible adults.
Parents who are interested in having their child participate in this program, will need to open their child’s account at Fidelity and then on-going deposits can be made conveniently at school.
Please feel free to stop in at either Fidelity branch in Leominster to open your account. Please let them know it is for St. Anna’s Cool Cash Club and/or email and let me know you’ve opened an account for your child so I can let you know when banking at school will begin.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Ruby Vargas from Fidelity Bank at rvargas@fidelitybankonline.com or 978-353-2701
