NEISD 2022-2023 Calendar Update (repeated announcement)
Election Day is scheduled to take place at several campuses across our District on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. On Monday, September 12, 2022, our NEISD board approved and designated November 8, 2022, as a No-School day for the primary purpose of safety and security for our district students and staff.
This change will impact the following:
● Last day of school for our regular DOI calendar will change from Thursday, May 25, 2023, to Friday, May 26, 2023 (This includes Castle Hills Elementary);
● Elementary and Middle School early release days will move to Thursday, May 25th and Friday, May 26, 2023;
● High School early release days will move to Wednesday, May 24th, Thursday, May 25th, and Friday, May 26, 2023.
● Extended School Year campuses will have their make-up day on Monday, June 19, 2023. Early release on Thursday and Friday, June 15th and 16th has been moved to Friday, June 16, 2023, and Monday, June 19, 2023.
The Human Resources Department will communicate changes for specific work schedules in the coming weeks.
Cyber Security Training (repeated announcement)
On Monday, October 3, 2022, you will receive an email from Infosec IQ Notifications (notifications@securityiq-notifications.com) with the heading "Start your security awareness training course." Although this email originates from an external source, it is legitimate and safe. NOTE: Each staff receives a unique email specific to them as an employee. You cannot use another staff member’s invitation email.
All NEISD employees with a District-provided email account must complete the online Infosec IQ cybersecurity course by Friday, October 28, 2022. The timeline to complete this training is more aggressive than in prior years.

Assistant Principal Updates...
Northwood Discipline Form-This is just a reminder, please use this Google Form to notify me of any discipline that needs attention in your classroom. Skyward referrals do not send me a notification. This is a great way to collect data, especially if you have a student in MTSS/RtI for behavior. Please make sure if you have a student with ongoing behavior that you have already contacted the parent and I am not their first call. Thanks! (this is also linked and highlighted on the Northwood Hub)
Door Safety- Please, please do not leave any exterior doors propped open at any time. Please make sure you have your keys with you to unlock them especially as you make your way to specials. We appreciate your help with this!
Table/Desk Tops- Just a reminder that you are still responsible for wiping down your own desks/table tops at the end of each day. This is no longer part of the custodial responsibilities. If you need some cleaner, please let Stuart or Sonia know. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Positive Phone Calls- Thank you to those that have participated in the Positive Phone Calls home in the first 30 days. We have 70ish recorded so far!!! Way to go! If you have made any positive calls, and have not added a sticky to the chart in the lounge there is still time! We will extend this until October 31! If you contribute to the chart, at the end of October I will deliver a jeans pass to you!
