September 15, 1963, Birmingham Alabama. Many colored people had attended church when a white man placed a box underneath The Baptist Church on 16th Street. 10:22 a.m. the bomb went off. Killing four girls; Denise McNair age 11, Cynthia Wesley 14 years-old, Carole Robertson age 14, and Addie Mae Collins 14. Twenty-three other men and women hurt.
