Known as crib death, because infants often die in their cribs and usually happens during sleep.
2 New Statistics of SIDS
1. Mothers that smoke during pregnancy, then the baby has a 3 times greater risk of getting SIDS. Babies that breath second hand smoke have a 2.5 greater risk of getting SIDS.
2. Babies that sleep on their tummies on top of soft bedding have a 21 times greater risk of getting SIDS.
2 Rules to Follow
1. Don't put your baby in your bed with you while you're sleeping
2. Don't put any objects or heavy blankets in the crib with the baby while it's sleeping
