Home-School Communication
Stay In Touch!
The Go-Home Folder
Your go-home folder is the ultimate communication tool. It is extremely important to check the folder daily and return it to school.
Front Flap
The front flap is where I put the most important communication. Notes from school, assignments to be completed, or notices are all put here.
Money
This is where you should send money. Please put all money in a labeled envelope or bag. Loose money can be lost easily and third graders are expected to keep up with their own money and orders.
Back Flap
This is where work to stay at home will be. Sometimes pages are unfinished and that's ok. You can make a choice to finish them at home for extra practice, but often, we just didn't have time in class. If your child is regularly not finishing class assignments I will let you know. PLEASE clean out this section.
Newsletters
Newsletters are available on Smore.com. I will send at email link to all newsletters. I will also print and send home newsletters on Monday, but would like to transition to paperless copies if possible. The newsletter lets you know the spelling words, test information, and other important events for the week.
ClassDojo
ClassDojo has a messenger app that allows me to send and receive messages. Please consider downloading and using ClassDojo. A parent sign-up code will be sent home.
We have a class Facebook group. It is a private group, but it allows me to add photos throughout the day and week, plus add quick reminders. If you have a Facebook account, please join us! Search for Mrs. Everette's Third Grade or I can add you through email.
We have a "Twitter Feed" on the classroom wall where students can post information and replies to questions in class. I control the twitter feed from our room. Students will not be able to use Twitter independently. Follow @OurThirdGrade to see updates.
Conferences
If I have concerns about your child, I will contact you for a conference. If you would like to schedule a conference, please send me a note, email me (meverette@bcbe.org), or call to make an appointment. My planning period is usually 1:25-1:55 each day and I can be available before and after schools most days.
PTO
All parents are encourages to join the Parent Teacher Association. This organization supports the school in many ways to benefit the learning environment. It is our goal to have 100% participation in PTO.
If you join at $25, you get a Tuesday Shirt.
