Glenholme School Newsletter

Term 1- Week 8, 24th March 2022

Kia ora koutou,

We have had a bit of a shock this week with the wet weather. I think that this is the first time that we have had any rain since we came back to school this year.

It has been an interesting few weeks at school with the children who have had COVID returning to school when they are well and then other children becoming sick. This has meant that the number of children who have been here has been fairly consistant. The same thing has happened with our teachers and support staff. This has enabled us to keep the school open for learning.

I have been really impressed with the way that our tamariki have shown resilence during these uncertain times. We have needed to split some classes and the children have happily done this. I must admit that they have been very pleased to see their own teachers when they return to school.

A reminder that we are still in the Red Traffic Light setting so we will continue to ask parents and caregivers to remain outside the school when they drop off and pick up their children. With the changes announced yesterday, if you do need to come into school you will no longer need to scan the COVID QR Code. We will still ask that you to come into the office and sign in, using the Vistab. There continues to be the requirement to wear masks when you are in the school grounds and of course the children in Whakapoungakau Team will continue to wear masks when they are inside.
