Weekly Update
January 13th-January 17th 2020
This week the Melrose Public Schools were featured in The Washington Post. The article talks about Melrose's approach to competency-based education and shifting teaching and learning to a student centered approach to meet the instructional needs of individual students.
Friendly reminder that school will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. day.
Hope you all stay warm and enjoy the long weekend.

Discussion Questions:
Teachers face many barriers when implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL), how can parents partner with schools and take action to help eliminate those barriers?
What does a universally designed environment look like? How can implementation of a UDL classroom support self-directed learners at school and at home?
