- Phase 1 of the staff lounge project was completed! Please make sure to thank PTA and Sarah Geisler (and her group) for coming in this weekend and working on it for us. The sink area is covered, please don't peek as they are still working on a reveal for staff.
- Please make sure to work on cleaning out desks and coat rooms this week. Everything goes home over break so Chris and Curt can do some spring cleaning.
- Please make sure you are all diligent about encouraging positive bathroom behavior and practices. There have been some recent issues. Having students sign out and in to the bathroom is a great way of keeping track and figuring out issues.
- Blurbs are due this week. Don't take them with you over break! I would love to have them in sooner than later so I don't have to either. Just sayin! :)
- Parent shopping season has begun. Please look for opportunities to help put our best foot forward. Please pay some extra attention to bulletin boards, coat rooms and hallways.

- 3rd Grade Lansing trip.
- PTA Meeting at 10:00 in the cafeteria. Let Melissa know if you have something that needs to be added.
- So, there is a nation-wide student walk out set to take place at 10:00. I am not anticipating any students at the elementary level planning on participating in this, but we have discussed it at the admin level. If there are any students who ask to participate in the event, I will receive them in the cafeteria at 10:00. Any students who come to the cafeteria should be sent down so they can observe 17 minutes of silence for the lost Florida students, as intended by the event organizers. Although sympathetic to the cause, HVS does not see this as an appropriate "assembly" for our elementary students at this time.
Thursday:
- BIT reorganization: Without our dedicated Coach, Kathy will be leading a Dibbles-Dig with K-1 in the morning (K 9:15 - 10:30 and 1st 10:40 - 12:10). We will then be using the subs to help cover Yvette, Jessica and Greg as we get ready for the big event!
- LIM Night assembly in the gym at 2:30. Each grade level will be able to run through their Habit presentation.

- Please make sure your grade level team meeting with me is scheduled by the end of this week. Between snow days and unintended conflicts, I know meetings have needed to be rescheduled. Please make scheduling a priority.
- We each have a role in creating the weather at Kurtz. Be positive and look for opportunities to have each other's back!
