Principal's Weekly Newsletter
October 27, 2022
Students begin to develop good habits and skills early on in their lives. They continue to build on these habits as they grow up. As adults we play a vital role in helping develop those habits. One way to ensure that children develop the appropriate and desired habits is by helping them be consistent and committed to the task.
To help a child develop a habit of reading regularly, you can set a time each night to read to your child. If your child is older and enjoys reading, still keep this time for them to read. (However, I believe that our children are never too old to be read to each day.) Doing this right before bed is great to help children unwind and relax. This is also a wonderful way to develop a great bedtime routine. Once the routine is set, children—and parents—can enjoy the time.
This is much like having our children pray attend Mass each weekend. If we make a consistent commitment to ensuring these things happen, our children will develop the habit and appreciation for engaging in prayer and attending Mass regularly.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers
Reminder: School Board tonight (agenda) at 6 PM in the Commons. Be sure to read our school board update each month. That newsletter was emailed to you yesterday, and it's always available on our homepage.
FAITH
Join the Knights of Columbus in the gym for breakfast on November 6 from 8:30 to 11 AM. Enjoy egg bake, hash browns, and cinnamon rolls for a freewill donation to support vocations. Come and learn what our own Father Joseph Sevcik and Sisters Lynn and Leann Luecke have been doing this past year. The Sisters are alumni of St. Patrick School.
EXCELLENCE
With elections right around the corner, our students are learning about the voting process and this freedom we cherish. Next week they will visit Mrs. Sink in the library to cast their ballots.
SERVICE
I love to see our students thinking of others. Our 7th and 8th grade girls have planned and are hosting Halloween activities this week for our Clover Patch Preschool students.
