A Typical Day

A typical day for boarding students begins with breakfast at 8:00. After the students have eaten they begin the days studies at 9:00. By 10:35 they start their next lesson. There are two lunches. The math and sciences have their lunches first followed by the languages, social studies, and arts. The first lunch begins at 12:05pm, and the second at 1:35 . Both lunches last thirty minutes. At 2:10 students begin their last class. Their academic day is finished at 3:40pm.

Once their school day is finished, students can participate in one of the schools many actives which includes, but are not limited to: soccer, swim, golf, tennis, yearbook, newspaper, broadcasting, drama, dance, photography, and photo editing.

After activities end dinner is provided starting at 5:00pm until 7:30pm. Once finished with dinner students can study, and meet with friends.

On weekends, students have the option to go into the local town of Wokingham. They must have an adult chaperon with them if they are under the age of 13. Students can also visit home if they wish as long as they have a prearranged method of transport. Lastly students can stay at the school over the weekend.

How Many Students Attend?

The Lane is focused on the individual education of students ages 11 to 16. The maximum size of each graduating class is one hundred students. Four hundred total students are able to attend the Lanes School. This enables teachers to focus on each student and create a strong student teacher bond.

Uniform Code

Girls have the option to wear a grey skirt or khaki pants with a white button up. During colder months female students have an option of a grey sweater or vest.

Boys will wear Khakis with a white button up. In colder months they will also have the option of wearing a grey sweater or vest.

Ties are required to be worn by all student when in uniform. The required tie is burgundy with a yellow stripe accent.

On Tuesday and Thursday, all students must wear a burgundy blazer with the school emblem on the right side of the chest.


Students who attend the Lanes School are able to take advantage of many features which include, but are not limited to: dormitories, meals, textbooks, spacious wardrobes, laptops and desktops, cameras, and sporting equipment. All of which are paid for in the tuition.


Students are highly encouraged to participate in after lesson activities. The Lanes School has a variety of different sports and activities. These after lesson activities include, but are not limited to:
