Shout-outs

We have several shout-outs for people doing great things!

  • Shout out to those of you who pledged a donation to VAEF at the beginning of the year. The breakfast was yummy and we appreciate you giving back to our students!
  • Shout out to Stephanie Fernandez for the water bottle recycling tubs!
  • Shout out to Kristen Weaver for filling in when we needed coverage for Advisory multiple times this week!
  • Shout out to Pat Kuhns for tutoring students throughout the day and working with our Saturday School students

Do Your Actions Reflect Your High Expectations?

Sometimes we subconsciously have low expectations for some of our students without realizing it. Don't make the mistake of acting on lower expectations, asking "easier" questions of your struggling students or moving on too quickly if they cannot answer.

What does it look like when teachers have expectations for ALL of their students?
  • Ask high order and extending questions
  • Provide appropriate wait time
  • Give more positive feedback
  • Stand in closer proximity to students
  • Make more eye contact
Make your ACTIONS reflect your high expectations. Expect great things from ALL of your students. Teach your students as if they all came to school dressed for success and ready to learn. YOU are preparing them for an amazing future.

Benchmark & STAAR Snacks

Teachers,

Just a reminder to please submit a PO ahead of time if you would like to place an order for benchmark or STAAR snacks. It is NEVER too early to submit a PO.

It may not be fair...it may be scary...it might even be overwhelming at times...but it's the hard truth:
