Community Connection
Parkway School, September 3, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians, Willy Wonka Jr. auditions are just around the corner! Please understand that participating in the musical is a commitment that must be taken seriously. Please discuss with your child and review your calendar to make sure you are able to make this commitment. Attendance is critical to the success of our show. It is important that both rehearsal and performance dates are prioritized. Practice tracks for music and choreography will also be available and prepare your child for success. Depending on your child’s part, the schedule will vary. Most parts will only have rehearsal twice a week until tech week. Other parts will need to be in rehearsal two or three times a week. Tech week everyone must be at every rehearsal. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from Watauga High School for rehearsals during tech week. Rehearsals are usually right after school until 4:00 pm (until tech week when rehearsals will go longer). Check out our show website for information: https://sites.google.com/wataugaschools.org/pkywwjr/home It is also very important that all parents with a child in the musical should volunteer to help with the play. Volunteer opportunities range from bringing snacks to rehearsal to helping to break down the set at the end of the show. We will also need assistance with makeup and getting students in costumes on the show dates. The performance will be Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22, 2022 (tentative snow date: January 28 and 29). Rehearsals will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and begin the last week of September. Important Dates Coming Up: All auditions in the music room.
