We Care Wednesday Update!!!
This school year, we are excited that We Care Wednesdays will highlight more themes... and this month we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (9/15-10/15)!
This week we celebrate Hispanic Heritage in the arts.
This past Wednesday we recognized the amazing artist Frida Kahlo. (Many of you may recognize her name and work from a Meet the Masters project last school year!)
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Inspired by the country's popular culture, she employed a natïve folk art style to explore important questions in society.
Stay tuned for another highlight of Hispanic Heritage next week!
Here is an example of her work, Still Life with Parrot and Fruit
Also one of her self-portraits...

NLMUSD Three-Way Virtual Pledge
Dear Parents of NLMUSD Students,
To ensure that our students and teachers have a safe and successful learning environment conducive to learning, the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District has instituted a Three-Way Virtual Pledge. This pledge represents a commitment where all stakeholders work together to ensure a successful school year while engaged in Distance Learning.
In addition, the NLMUSD has implemented a Virtual Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and positive learning experience. Students participating in online instruction must adhere to all existing District policies regarding student conduct. The Virtual Code of Conduct provides additional guidance for students when engaging in virtual school activities. Please review the attached documents or click on the links below to review this information with your child.
Thank you and we look forward to a successful school year.
