The Promise Land and Jericho
Childrens Ministry
Dear Parents
Our journey through the Old Testament continues this week with Israel crossing the Jordan River and entering into the promised land at last. Their first battle is against the city of Jericho. God fought for His people and gave the city to them. It was clear from the beginning that it was God’s power, not Israel’s strength, that would give them the land.
Just as the Lord defeated Jericho for the Israelites, Jesus defeats His enemies and leads believers into the promised land of eternity. Help your kids connect how God defeated Israel’s enemies with how Jesus defeated our greatest enemy: sin.

Hi Parents,
As always its is such a blessing to sing songs our praises to our Father, and engage in activities that point to God's character with your kiddos. They had so much fun as we marched around our wall of Jericho, blew their trumpets and knocking the wall down. It has been such a blessing to witness God grow their hearts in obedience and ultimately lead to the fostering of hearts that trust the Him and respond in faithful obedience. We look forward to seeing you all next week as we continue learning about God's faithfulness to the Israelites.

Hi parents!
We had a great time with your kiddies yesterday continuing our journey through the bible learning about how faithful God was to Joshua and the Israelites. First God showed his awesome power by drying up the Jordan River so the Isrealites could cross on dry ground just like he did the Red Sea. God told Joshua to build a memorial out of stones so they could always remember what God had done. In class each child shared about something awesome that God did in their lives and then stacked up a block. We built our own memorial to remind us of God's faithfulness. It was so cool to hear the kids share all kinds of things that God has done for them! Then we learned about God's unusual battle plan to defeat Jericho so they could enter into the Promised Land. All they had to do was march according to God's instructions and God ended up bringing the walls down himself. He fought the battle for them! So we made our own trumpets and went on a march outside. We went around our blocks of Jericho walls 7 times on the seventh day and sure enough the walls came down when the trumpets blew. So much fun!!

Aloha One Love families!
This last week we experienced the faithfulness of God and His almighty power through the event of "the promised land and Jericho". We got to stir up some real good discussions such as how do I respond to a certain situation and why. The action always being love and the reason always being that we trust God 100% to take care of us. Acknowledging that He is with His children all the time and when anything bad is happening to us we can react in love and grace and mercy because the Almighty Lord of hosts is with us. Please encourage your kids by your working out of His salvation in your life and leading them to be loving ambassadors of Jesus Christ. We love you all and thank you so much for playing your part in a faithfulness to the body of Christ. Grace and peace from our Father.
