April is the Month of the Military Child
April is the Month of the Military Child and purple is the color for military connected children.
We know that when students are successful, their days go better, and their future looks brighter. This goes for their families as well.
Here at Arctic Light Elementary, we work hard to meet student learning and social needs. You, our parents, are co-educators in this endeavor. We value all of your communication that helps our students succeed.
Month of the Military Child Spirit Week is April 10-14th. Friday, April 14th, is our Purple-Up Day but really, every Friday in April is Purple-Up Day. See the Spirit Week flyer linked here and located below.
Join us for Parents, Pastries and Principal - April 11th, at 8am in our Commons when we will review best practices for Military Connected students. Additionally, we will have a reading by Mrs. Sparks' of her book Daphne is a Dandelion: bring your Preschool children. Her book will be for sale at a reduced price with the proceeds going to our school activities.
On Friday, April 14th, remind your child that scores of soldiers will be cheering them on when they enter school. Soldiers have hundreds of items (stickers, bracelets, pencils) to pass-out to our students. This is our big Purple-Up Day for students.
- Intent to Return Forms - will be sent home this Thursday. Please complete and return these forms. We use these forms to create classrooms for next year.
- We need Perfect Attendance - for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students during State Testing: April 18th-20th. Please plan accordingly.
