PBJHS News and Notes
September 5th, 2017
Dear PBJHS Families
School is off to a fast and furious start at PBJHS. It's hard to believe that we already starting week 4. We want to keep you informed of what happens daily at PBJHS. If you would like, please take a moment to follow us on Facebook or Twitter at the addresses on the bottom of this newsletter. I will update these accounts frequently throughout the school year not only with events, but daily happenings in our school to help our families see what goes on in our building throughout the day. The PB Schools website and app are other great ways to stay connected. Partnering together, we can ensure the success of our kids. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at anytime.
Thank you again for all you do!

PBJHS to Help Houston Hurricane Victims
We will be having a "Stuff the Bus" event next Saturday at Walmart from 9-12. PBJHS students would like to collect cleaning supplies and send to a Houston area school that has had students and teachers affected by the damage. The academic lab that brings in the most supplies, will win a reward party (BWW, Ice Cream or Pizza) depending on how much they bring in!
ICU Begins this Week
This week we will begin our ICU intervention program. We have decided that student learning is our number one focus and we want to ensure that ALL students are succeeding. Please click the link below to read the letter I sent out to parents about this program and what it means for you and your child.
Late to Schools
School begins at 7:30. If your child arrives after 7:34, he/she is considered "Late to School". You must walk your child in and sign them into the office if they are late. Please refer to our student handbook for the school policy regarding this.
School Fundraiser
Our school wide fundraiser kicked off this week! Students who sell 10 or more items, will get to attend a Cardinal's game in the spring:) Fundraiser money and orders are due September 13.
School Pictures- September 8th
School pictures will be taken on September 8th during PE classes.
Outdoor Eating at PBJHS
This last week our PBJHS students enjoyed eating outside at our new "Courtyard" area. Buffalo Wild Wings donated tables and chairs for us and Pepsi donated umbrellas. Each day that is weather appropriate, 32 students get to eat outside. It is a reward for good behavior in the cafeteria. Students are loving it!
Meet Our Staff
We are fortunate to teach and lead at Poplar Bluff Junior High. We have an excellent staff and we hope you enjoy getting to know them through our fun back to school video.
