Story Time with Teddy and Ms. Hannah
Welcome Aboard Our Newest TUMBLEBUS South Charlotte Instructor Ms. Hannah!
A Message From Ms. Hannah:
My name is Hannah and I am from Irmo, SC. I graduated from Winthrop University with a B.A. in Dance Performance and a minor in Technical Theatre Studies. My passion has always been teaching and working with children of all ages. In August 2015, I began teaching dance at a local studio and have since fallen in love with being in a classroom or studio even more. I am so excited to join the Team TUMBLEBUS, as I will have more opportunities to get to express my love for fitness and movement all across the region! As a teaching artist, my focus is not solely on choreography and the creation of my own work, but spreading the fundamental concepts of movement and dance to children at a young age. I enjoy doing this by promoting a healthy lifestyle and instilling confidence and development skills through instruction! I am so excited to see what my dance and fitness background can bring to the TUMBLEBUS Experience.

What Skills are We Learning this Month?
Teddy Tip of the Month for Parents: Promoting Independence
Don't redo what they've done.
If your child attempts any task and its remotely close and safe, do not redo what they've done. For example, if your child makes his/her bed, resist the urge to smooth the blankets or straighten the toys in the toy bin. If he/she dresses herself in stripes and polka dots or a police uniform, compliment his/her "eclectic" style. Unless absolutely necessary, don't fix what your child accomplishes, says Kathy Buss, director of the Weekday Nursery School, in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Your child will notice and it may discourage him or her from trying that task and other tasks independently again. The goal is independence so don't "baby" your child. As much as you want them to "stay young" allow them to grow into more independence. Remember, no matter how independent they are, they will always be your baby, and no one can take that away.
