Akron FBLA

Update from Akron FBLA Advisor, Ali Houston on their trip to Denver and state results:

The pandemic might have slowed us down, but it hasn’t stopped us. Today (April 20th) was full of behind the scenes business tours, TopGolf, cookie decorating, swimming, and then celebrating accomplishments with an overnight trip. I am so blessed to be able to work with these kids everyday! So proud of them and their persistence.

Sara Wylie has done an amazing job as State President. It was a hard year and she continually pushed herself to make the best out of a bad situation and move FBLA forward.

On Monday afternoon our Akron Ram adaptive basketball team took on the Northeast Coyotes.
The game was a great celebration of adaptive players, parents, partners, coaches and school spirit. Thank you to the fans from all over northeastern Colorado and the students who cheered these athletes on while they played on Monday.

Akron Lady Ram Volleyball

The Akron Lady Ram volleyball team won a decisive 3-0 contest over the Caliche Buffaloes on Wednesday night. The win brought the team record to 7-7 on the season. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to qualify the team for regionals. Thank you players and coaches for your effort this season.

3 TRUTHS about LEADERSHIP by Jon Gordon

1. Leadership isn't about gaining power. It's about empowering others.

2. Great leaders succeed because they bring out the greatness in others.

3. You don't have to be great to serve but you have to serve to be a great leader.
