Fulton Science Academy
EXCELLENCE, INNOVATION, CHARACTER
Week of April 17, 2017
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear Friends, Family, and FSA Supporters:
Our school is back in action and there is no shortage of news to share with you this week! Some highlights:
The leadership of Fulton Science Academy had a great meeting on Friday with Ms. Kelsey Lynch, Executive Director of the Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce. During this visit, Ms. Lynch toured our school and met with several students who explained their innovative STEAM Enrichment Projects. We are speaking with Ms. Lynch about the possibility of working with some local businesses and chamber members next year in conjunction with our STEAM projects. The goal is to help companies solve real-world challenges and give our students motivation and inspiration by providing practical applications for their incredibly creative minds; it would be a win-win!
We also hosted several educator friends from Woodward Academy last week. Our guests had a chance to tour the school (photographed above) and observed several of our elementary classrooms in action. It is always an honor to welcome educators from other schools!
As we look ahead at the remainder of our school year, I'm pleased to announce that Fulton Science Academy will be hosting a "Try DI" Challenge on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Details on this awesome program can be found below.
Later this week, Coach Randall looks forward to welcoming our parents for a Meet and Greet this Thursday at 8 a.m. The goal of this gathering is to introduce his vision for FSA's athletics program next year and elicit feedback from our wonderful families.
Also later this week, FSA Admissions Director, Mrs. Walsh and I will head to South Korea for six days to meet, interview, and test potential high school students to join FSAPS during the 2017-18 school year. I'd also like to extend personal congratulations to our FSAPS High School History Bowl Team as they travel to Washington DC this Thursday for Nationals.
It's going to be another busy week ahead as we embrace so many incredible opportunities. Despite our hectic schedules, I hope we can all take a moment to exhale and breathe in the beauty of Spring, a time when our world becomes immersed in such beautiful color. Thank you for being a part of the FSA family, and for the joy and beauty, you bring to our school by sharing your precious children with us. They remain our greatest gift. Go Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Kenan Sener
Principal

The student council members shared information with their homerooms and encouraged everyone to purchase St. Baldrick’s shirts and to donate money to the cause, which aims to eradicate childhood cancer.

Home Visits - A Fun Way to meet your teachers!
Home visits are a casual way for your child to spend time with his/her teacher in the comfort of their home. Teachers enjoy having a chance to see children in this comfortable environment, doing whatever makes them most happy and spend time with children and their parents outside of a regular school day.
Simply email junal@fultonscienceacademy.org with some suggested dates/times, as well as your students' name(s) and homeroom assignments. Ms. Unal will be in touch to confirm final details.
