If your ID has never been scanned into our system this school year, you may want to drop by before the day to scan it and expedite you entry. You must have your ID on party day regardless if your badge is pre-printed or not. LHISD policy is "NO ID, No Entry". The RSVP process will speed along your entry however. A note from Spanish class:
Burden Parents,
Your child will be introduced to a holiday called El Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead at the end of October through the beginning of November. This is a jubilant and festive tradition that is celebrated in parts of Mexico and Latin America. It is a time to celebrate and cherish happy memories of loved ones who have passed, not scary stories! During this annual tradition, families make special foods and picnic at the graves of their loved ones. To compare, this festival is similar to the manner Memorial Day is celebrated here in the U.S.
By studying the art and culture of Mexico as part of our curriculum and learning about this celebration, I hope to create an exciting cultural experience for your child. If you have any questions about Day of the Dead, please feel free to contact me: (512) 260-4400. Thank you for taking the time to appreciate what your child is learning and creating in Spanish class.
