Experience Online Testing Georgia: Grades 3-5

This practice site lets students see what Milestones testing online is like. Parents and educators are welcome to try it too. The items on the demonstration tests are general and are organized into three grade bands: Grades 3 – 5, Grades 6 – 8, and High School in the content areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The items do not necessarily represent the specific grade-level content that students learn daily in their classrooms. The primary purpose is to let students experience, firsthand, the functionality of the online testing platform. The sample tests are not graded, so have fun!

You are an important partner with your child’s teacher, whether your child is learning at home or at school. To help you support your child’s learning, GCPS is launching a new initiative called AKS at Home. With this project, families will learn ways to help their child practice skills they are learning in class as part of the district’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum. Parents have access to a library of recorded sessions and tip-sheets. Find more information on the AKS at Home web page.

Character Word of the Month: Cooperation

Big picture

The character trait for the month of March is Cooperation. We define cooperation as working together to get something done. Kids practice this when they are working together on a group project, reading a book, or completing an assignment together. Teachers will choose one student in their class that exhibited cooperation the most for the month of March to represent their class as the Cub of the Month.

Women's History Month

Check out read-aloud books by your counselors on our eCLASS page for Women’s History Month in March! Look under “Content” to find books featuring incredible women in history!

Reading Rewards

We look forward to recognizing our February readers early next week! Be sure to read and log your March minutes throughout the month! All March logs are due on or before the beginning of April.

The goal of our Reading Rewards program is to help students develop a consistent habit of reading. The monthly requirement is to read, outside of school hours, at least 20 minutes a day for at least 20 days of the month. Students are expected to list book titles and minutes read on each of the 20 dates that are logged on the form. Parents must initial each of the entry dates.

For students to be recognized, the reading log must be turned in on time and considered complete. Students can complete and submit a paper or digital log. The digital log can be found on the school home page of eCLASS. The digital log is an editable pdf file that can be downloaded and saved to your computer at home. Once complete the digital log is submitted as an eCLASS assignment.

Reading logs can be turned into your teacher anytime you have finished the requirements. No logs should be received before the 21st of each month.

If you have any questions about the Reading Rewards program, please email Jennifer.Alden@gcpsk12.org.
